Official Putnam County Record Routes

Putnam County records are kept by different offices according to the event and custody stage. The Sheriff and Jail are the local starting point for a current county-custody question or a Sheriff-held record. The Sheriff does not publish a separately named records-unit line, so a targeted record request should go through the official form or main office.

For a known incident or booking, use the Sheriff's Report Request form and provide a full name, approximate date, and the agency involved. Ohio's Public Records Act permits public-record requests subject to exemptions, redactions, and reasonable processing. The available Sheriff materials do not promise a fixed booking-photo fee or turnaround, so ask the office to confirm the record scope and any cost.

• Current county custody or a recent booking: call the Jail or Sheriff's main line. No verified public Putnam web roster or booking feed was found.
• Putnam Sheriff booking or incident material: use the Report Request form or contact the Sheriff's Office.
• A city police report: ask the police department that created the report. The city may hold the incident file while the Sheriff holds a later county booking item.
• Later case activity or a court file: contact the Putnam County Clerk at 419-523-3110 or use Municipal eServices or Common Pleas eServices.
• A sentenced state prisoner or supervision record: use the official Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction search, not a county-booking channel.
• Federal or immigration detention: use the official Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE detainee locator only when that jurisdiction is relevant.

Common Pleas and Municipal Court information is available at 419-523-3110, with listed courthouse hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A court docket may show later proceedings, but it is not a substitute for a current Jail confirmation.
